    There are significant differences and similarities between the involuntary migration of indentured servants and enslaved Africans to the North America colonies. One difference is the surrounding conditions that resulted in enslavement or being an indentured servant. Most Africans were forced into enslavement. Many Africans were brutally captured on African coasts by European/American salve raiders. Others were forced and sold into slavery by their community and ethnic leaders.
