The real Daniel Boone is often referred to the in phrases like "the legendary Daniel Boone as the real man." It is interesting how various versions of truth come out of history. Legend may be transmitted orally, passed on person-to-person, or, in the original sense, through written text. Legend, for its active and passive participants, however, include no happenings that are outside the realm of "possibility," otherwise they become uncredible. For example, in 1955 DC comics came out with the first comic titled "The Legends of Daniel Boone #1 (1955) (http://www.comics-db.com/DC_Comics/L/The_Legends_of_Daniel_Boone/), where many qualities were personified and exemplified, and changed in the process. (You will probably want to take the following diagram out if this is an assignment, but I thought it was an interesting place to start by looking at the way Daniel Boone was portrayed over a hundred years after he died - the first comic below is in 1955 and the last in 1959).
