Using the topic of teaching a core group of pediatric nurses information on cardiac defects and the care of post op cardiac patient, write a goal statement, and develop and associated objective staircase using cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains to develop the objectives. The lecture notes from this week should help you with this assignment.

This assignment seems fairly straightforward. It says to refer back to your this week's lecture notes, which it often good advise to follow, as some instructor's have something specific that they are looking for and have usually emphasized specific points in class.
• Good performance targets will be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timed.
o Specific: clear, unambiguous and easy to understand by those who are required to achieve them
o Measurable: there is no point setting a target for which success cannot be gauged by referring to a specific measure or measures
o Achievable: expressing specific aims that staff feel can realistically be achieved, with some effort: 'out of reach, but not out of sight'
o Relevant to those who will be required to meet them; they must have enough control over their work to be able to meet their targets, or their motivation will suffer
o Timed: there should be a set timescale for achieving a target; open-ended targets may not encourage focused effort on improving performance.
