Please note that kids with these types of problems often have difficulty with following instructions or rules. Many of these kids are not used to teachers from middle or upper income backgrounds who use a more different and more complex vocabulary than the at risk kids. They often have trouble finding a common ground with their kids. Thus, relationship building is the primary challenge and key, in my opinion.
