The digital divide has received national attention, defining it as those who can benefit from technology and those who can't. It is argued by many people that those who are wealthy have a more, unfair advantage to gaining information compared to lower income families. It is also argued whether or not our society has truly benefited from technology. Because the digital divide in an international issue, there is more to look at than just technology. Other factors do come into play, such as economic status, race, ethnicity, gender, and political and cultural issues.
