It is true that internet has brought sweeping changes to global communication, but it would be an understatement at this particular juncture to say that it is emerging as a super operating system.

In the near future, this would certainly be a reality with major companies getting involved to resolve the problems with heterogeneous operating systems. Major companies such as Microsoft, Sun, IBM and BEA have made it clear that they consider network computing the next great competitive battleground.
