Information:
Information can be any thing about a person, object, and an entity which describes.
This could be a tangible or intangible. Information is nothing but data but in raw format.
E.g. facts about a employee, or product

Operation System: An operating system nothing but an application that will start from a boot program. It manages other application running on operating system. It has graphical user interface or command line (in case of UNIX).This manages the CPU ,memory for all the applications running on top of operating system.
E.g Mac Operating System, Windows Operating System.

3. What is application software? Give three examples.
Application software is a computer programs can perform a specific task or process.
Application software runs on top of operating system. It can't run without a operating system.
Eg. Microsoft word processor
Databases: ms access ,ms sql server.
Games: solitaire, mine sweeper.

4. Explain how a chat group differs from instant messaging

Chat group is usually an open room(s) (it can be of different group(s) grouped under religion, country, ethnicity, etc.) Which group of people can talk at once.
Instant messaging is generally from person to person, although instant messaging also have chat like features that allow multiple users to talk at the same time ...
