I work for the Texas Health and Human Service Commission. We determine benefits for foodstamps, Medicaid and Tanf (temporary assistance for needy families) cash benefits for clients who meet the income guidelines. I need to evaluate the mission, vision, goals and objectives and discuss the relationship between quality and each of the following. Compare and contrast the management style at Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC) with the management style at an organization that has adopted total Quality Management.
Discuss the characteristics of the other other organization's Total Quality Management style and compare those characteristics with your own organization.
Discuss the extent to which the other organizatins Total quality management practices could be integrated into HHSC.
HHSC is a governmental agency and rules are determined by the Texas legislature.

If we evaluate the mission, it must clearly state the reason why Texas Health and Human Service Commission exists. This is addressed to a limited extent moreover the mission should specify who the customers are. In this case the customers are not specified by the mission but it makes a reference to Texans. Are all Texans the customers of Texas Health and Human Service Commission? This does not appear to be the case. The mission should specify if the customers will be better off.
