This gives Delta excellent access to the East Coast of United States. An important strength of delta is its international alliances. Further, the company has shown growth in its sales revenues. An important strength of Delta is its strong management. It has been able to organize its operations efficiently. In addition, the management has also been able to develop an excellent supply chain for Delta. After the merger with Northwest Airlines there are considerable advantages it enjoys because of size. It has economies of scale and is able to reduce its operational costs. Further, Delta enjoys strong customer loyalty. Even though some customers have experienced indifferent service they continue to patronize Delta. The merger with Northwest Airlines has given two important strengths to Delta. The first is cost advantage and the other is market share leadership. Delta has been able to operate an extensive domestic and international network serving all continents except Antarctica. High brand equity has also ensures increasing sales revenues. Currently, the number of employees employed by Delta and its subsidiaries is 80,000. Its hub at Atlanta is very strong. (206 words)
