The supply chain leadership must support initiatives taken by the firm to implement principles of sustainability (2). Further, the supply chain must provide raw materials and services required for producing and marketing environmentally friendly products. For example, a manufacturing firm wants to produce products from environmentally friendly raw materials. The supply chain leadership must show initiative to get environmentally friendly raw materials for the manufacturing process. Also, a business seeking to become sustainable strives to become greener than its competitors. In this context it requires green energy, green inputs, and green equipment (1). The supply chain leadership should strive to source green energy, green inputs, and green equipment for the business.
