Core Discipline 2 applies to my current workplace in several ways. However, there is no formal blueprint that I know of. The supply chain processes of planning, sourcing, making, delivering and returning all exist but they are not formally documented. The interaction between supply chain processes is not viewed or in most cases not even considered. In my company what matters is that the moment an order is placed it must be fulfilled immediately. Currently, there are no computer applications that support supply chain process, however, inventory received is recorded in the computerized accounting system, the delivery of finished goods is recorded in the accounting system, the invoice details of incoming supplies and payment made is recorded in the accounting system. Essentially, only the accounting application exists and the question of integration does not apply.
