The history of coffee is one of connecting individuals to each other, to the arts, to their community, or perhaps just simply to a short time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, to share a cup of coffee. Rumor has it that an Ethiopian farmer noticed that his goats became more spirited when they ate a certain berries from an unknown tree. He took the berries to his local religious personality, who made a drink with the berries and discovered that he could pray for much longer after drinking this drink - thus coffee was born! Spreading out from Ethiopia, it spread across the Arabian Peninsula, finding a niche with Arab Muslims, who, unable to drink alcohol, quickly adopted this new drink as a substitute for alcohol. In private homes, as well as in the new 'qahveh khaneh' (coffee shops), people began meeting other people, drinking coffee, having conversations, listening to music, watching performers, playing chess, and keeping current with the news of the day. Thus, 'The Wine of Araby' was born. Our business plan endeavors to create an environment, centered on coffee, which attracts our customers (both first time and valued repeat customers) and makes them feel 'as if they were home'. The environment we are seeking is the archetypal cafe experience where big ideas are born.
