1. What is the Issue? What is the source of your information?

The issues are social needs. The source of information is Maslow's hierarchy of needs. According to Maslow, once the lower level physiological and safety needs are met, higher level needs become important. The first of these higher level needs is social needs. Now social needs are described as a need to interact with others. From the perspective of Maslow, social needs are fulfilled if a person has friendships, is with the family, there are community groups, social groups, feels belonging, and satisfies his need for giving and receiving love. Included in social needs are the need to have romantic attachments, or even being included in churches and religious organizations.

The issue related to social needs is that if social needs are not fulfilled then the person suffers from loneliness, depression, and worries. The social need is a strong need and it is important for people to feel loved and accepted by others. Involvement in groups like book clubs and sports team helps fulfill social needs.
