The leader:
The leader is Larry Page, who is the co-founder of Google Inc. with Sergey Brin and is the CEO of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc. Larry Page's father Carl Vincent Page, a PhD in computer science was a professor in computer science at Michigan State University. Larry Page's home environment was conducive to the study of computer science and his parents encourage creativity and invention (1). Page was attracted to computers when he was six years old. While pursuing his computer science PhD program at Stanford, Along with Sergey Brin, he co-authored a research paper titled, The Anatomy of a Large Scale Hyper- textual Web Search Engine. Page and Brin set up a simple search page for users and connected it to Stanford's broadband campus network. In August 1996, the initial version of Google still on the Stanford University website was made available to internet users. In 1998, Google Inc was incorporated. Page appointed himself CEO and Brin was the cofounder and Google's president.
In 2011 when Schmidt became the executive chairman, Page officially became the CEO of Google. At this time Google had more than $180 billion market capitalization and more than 24,000 employees. Page during his second tenure as the CEO wanted to develop greater autonomy for the executives overseeing important divisions. He also created a team of senior vice-presidents who reported directly to him and worked in close proximity to his office (2). He also placed at top manager over most of Google's product divisions. He also worked to remove conflicts within the Google organization.
