The airline operates in a liberal domestic as well as international network, spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. An organization can improve its capacity by using latest techniques of innovation.

Innovation for Delta Airline is the capability to change actuality in modifying the existing processes, building up new products and inventing new business models. It is a process that begins with a novel thought and resolves with market introduction.

Phases of Innovation Process

The innovation process is a method for creating a list of advanced business opportunities that can become the basis for a new direction for the business firm. The four phases of innovation process are formulation, strategy, resourcing and implementation.

Phase I- Preliminary analysis: the first phase of innovative process includes formulation of strategies, environment scanning, external and internal analysis. Collecting and filtering the information from the external market as well as internal market, processing the data into relevant information (Schwill, 2005).

Phase II- Defining: the second phase of innovation process includes defining of Vision, mission, goals and objectives, making and adopting relevant changes, assessing changes in terms of possibilities for action, making changes and altering the overall business strategy, defining core competences, assessing costs and benefits of different options and selecting and giving priority to all the options (Schwill, 2005).
