Explanation # 1 (demonstrate how an existing statute or regulation provides a remedy to
a consumer when a sales contract for purchase of goods is breached. )
When a sales contract for purchase of goods is breached, the regulation gives the buyer the option to cover by making a purchase of goods in lieu of the goods he was supposed to receive from the seller. Then the buyer may recover from the seller the difference in cost between the cover and the contract price along with any damages. The option lies with the buyer to either make cover purchases or not and this option in no way disables him to make other claims from the seller.
