i) Analysis tools, such as gap analysis, will determine the gap in performance, however, it does nothing to compensate for inexperienced managers who still needs to have good judgment and a sound knowledge-base in order to make good business decisions. Rather, the analysis tool would determine if there was a gap between required skills and the current skill level of the inexperienced manager; however, then an appropriate an action plan would need to follow (i.e., training and development for the manager) would be required (see http://praxiom.com/iso-gap.htm).
