Eastern philosophy
Eastern Philosophy refers very broadly to the various philosophies of Asia, including Indian philosophy, Chinese philosophy, Persian philosophy, Japanese philosophy, and Korean philosophy. The term can also sometimes include Babylonian philosophy and Arabic philosophy, though these may also be considered Western philosophies.
Tantra Philosophy
Tantra's goal is to achieve a nirvana like state of transcendence. Tantric scholar Sir John Woodruff ("Arthur Avalon") mentions that the body of yogi who raises the Kundalini becomes in Samadhi cold & corpse like - expect for a bit of warmth at the top of his head. The idea is that consciousness breaks through the opening at the top of the head (the Brahma-Randha) & returns to the Godhead. Laya-yoga is yoga of absorption in the bliss of Godhead.
