The subject I'm working on is Recruitment of Veterans and People with Disabilities.
I need to describe practices in the recruitment of people with disabilities and of military veterans in an organization where historically these groups of applicants have been under-utilized.
Veterans and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) have been introduced in order to protect the veterans from employment discrimination (US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2012). This act has been enforced by US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and it prohibits private, state and local government employers from discriminating the employees on the basis of disability. Companies are focused towards reemploying veterans with and without service connected disabilities. Newly hired HR staffing is getting equal treatment by their employer in order to achieve the aims and objectives. Nowadays, veterans and disabled people are also getting equal employment opportunities. Organizations have to adopt appropriate strategies in order to recruit the disabled person and veterans (National Organization on Disability, 2010).
