1) What does the term "hypereffective" mean to you?
The hyper effective manager is one that is able to use the competing values when these are appropriate. For instance, in situations where it is effective to be flexible, the hypereffective manager uses flexibility, when internal focus and integration are required he uses internal focus and integration, when external focus and differentiation are appropriate he uses tactics that have an external focus and differentiation. When stability and control is required he uses tactics based on these values. In other words the hypereffective manager is one that uses appropriate tactics in appropriate situations to achieve the objectives of the company.
The term hypereffective also pertains to the results that the manager gets for the company. Every manager has specific objectives that need to be achieved in a fixed period of time. These are described as targets. There are resources like finance and personnel that manager have at their disposal to achieve those targets. A hypereffective manager consistently and repeatedly, not only exceeds those targets but also makes conservative use of the resources. For instance, he achieves the targets in a shorter time span than the one allotted and uses lesser funds than those budgeted.
