Scenario One Reflection Paper
In personal and professional aspects of people's lives, problems are inevitable. In order to effectively handle these predicaments, people should take time to analyze these problems to develop a better understanding of the situation and how to approach them. Too often individuals jump to solutions without fully realizing their potential outcome or if they even properly addressed the issue. In order to successfully analyze, people need to observe, inquire for facts, seek additional information, or do a review of history. In this paper, Team C will discuss in detail what problem-based learning is, how the problem-based learning works, and the advantages and disadvantages to using this approach. Additionally, Team C will apply the 9-step problem-solving approach to the USAuto/ AutoMex scenario to further highlight the process and results of the 9-step model. A few questions the team will address include:

The 9-Step Problem-Solving Model

When the 9-step problem-solving model was introduced to Learning Team C, it appeared to be a step-by-step procedure that was detailed and systematic. Beginning with step one, the team learned to realize the USAuto/ Automex scenario in terms of XXXX. The second step focused the team on XXXXXXX. Eventually, through a process of similar steps, the team arrived at the final state of measurable goals for the two companies to focus their efforts and resources on. This was not a quick or simple process to perform as there are a number of challenges presented by the 9-step problem-solving model. If an organization is not willing to go through the process, yet wants a solution to a complex problem, that organization may approach problems haphazardly without regard to efficient results. This may result in a solution that is inadequate in its possibility or more importantly missing achievable goals. It is imperative that all information is presented when describing the situation. This can be avoided by properly defining the challenges in addition to the opportunities that the problem presents.
What makes the 9-step problem-solving model effective is that it allows not only the scenario, but any given situation to be taken separately and analyzed point by point. Upon identifying the correct problem, one is better able to formulate an attainable solution or goal.
