We're dealing with a new system that is specific to a task - in this case, the task is that it's being used to gather data on competitors' customers. The apparent advantage would be that the system would gather and then analyze the information. The data could then be analyzed even further to determine why the customers are buying from the competitors. It would address the question as to why the customers are being attracted to the competitor over our own company, and this information could be used in our strategic planning, which would directly cause the strategic impact on our company.
