The proposed business is a solution to the growing need of households for a place where their pre- formal school children will be safely entrusted as they are taught the basic foundations of education.

Its unique selling proposition would be, "SAFETY, COMFORT, AND CONVENIENCE IN A HOME â?" LIKE ATMOSPHERE". Such characteristics will be the edge of the proposed business over existing learning centres.

Initially, it will be a sole proprietorship form of organization. The wife of the owner who has an appropriate academic background will manage its operations.

The business will be strategically located in a community with young couples who have at least a child who would be a potential enrolee in the centre.

Demand analysis indicates a dependable market share that will be captured by the centre. Estimates of income and expenditures during the first year of operations indicate that the business would be financially feasible.

BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
KIDDIE @ HOME LEARNING CENTER is a day care centre that will be put up in one of the subdivisions in a suburban community. It will cater to the learning needs of kids before their formal schooling. It would also solve the problem of working mothers who do not have much time and basic expertise to develop the initial interest of their children toward academic learnings. Te centre would also be an ideal place for kids while their mothers are in their jobs or in field assignments.

DEFINITION OF THE MARKET
Target market is composed of 3 to 6 years old children of average income families in a large subdivision of a suburban community.

The community is composed of no less than 1000 households and belong to average economic status. From an exploratory survey conducted, 90% of the households have a minimum of 1 child eligible for the learning centre. A preliminary needs assessment conducted also shows that 70% of the households are conjugal families in which both the husband and the wife are working. The wives are either employed in a private or state office or managing a family-owned business. Their children who have not been attending formal schooling are left with a domestic helper who is at the same time performing the household chores.

There is only one existing learning centre for kids in the area, but is operated by the local government. Services are offered for free, and cater to low-income families. The local government has been very strict in admitting families who could avail of the services. They have to comply with pre-qualification criterion in terms of eligible family income.
Pre-school learning has been an attached academic offering of colleges and universities that are not accessible to the households in the target community.
