    RFID or radio frequency identification is being used more and more in place of bar codes and those bulky tabs used in stores for identifying merchandise and in other places for identifying all kinds of things. The chips come with an electronic product code and tiny antennae that can be read by readers stationed at checkouts or in offices. They have been used successful in the chips used to identify missing animals and in places like Florida where the small tag can be read at toll booths for speedier trips on the highway.
