    In everyday life, we use the concept of negative numbers all the time. We deal with negative numbers when it comes to money, for instance—more specifically, when you "owe" something.

    Children do tend feel the difficulty if not in understanding the negative numbers, but in applying them. As far as making the children understand the concept, the examples involving money and temperature are preferred as the children can easily connect.
