In the old organization of Wal-Mart information was a carefully guarded secret. In the transformed networked organization information is shared and is available throughout the company. In the traditional Wal-Mart organization, leadership was well-defined and it was clear who the decision maker was In the transformed networked organization the leadership and decision making is fluid, it varies from situation to situation and the optimal leadership and decision making methods are used. In the old Wal-Mart organization the employees with required skills were hired and the employees were required to perform tasks in accordance to their skills for the rest of their careers.
