Your supervisor has asked you to prepare a 5-year career plan that begins after you have earned your College Degree. She has explained that your plan should be prepared regardless of whether you plan to stay with your current organization/business. To accomplish this you will need to use the library and the internet to identify the specific information needed within your career plan.

Your plan should include the following:

1. Begin your plan by identifying the industry in which you work (manufacturing, service industry, government, nonprofit, etc.) your current job title, and your current responsibilities (be specific). (If you are not currently employed, you may use your most recent job).

2. Identify your professional expectations within 1 year of completing your degree. Name the type of industry, the position title you believe you can attain in 1 year, and the actions you need to take to be eligible for promotion or hiring into that position.

3. Identify your professional expectations within 3 years of completing your degree. Identify the specific position title you would like to hold at that time.

Are there any direct actions you will need to take to be eligible for such a position (additional education, certifications, experiences, etc.)?

I am a part of the production team that makes molded plastic toys. The team has five members. Even though each member has a specific specialization, there is cross functional work. For example, when the toy molding process is on, each team member pitches in to make the plastic molds. In the team, I have done designing work, chiseled frames, poured in plastic pellets, and made the moulds required for the process. Even though there is no designated leader of the team, the designing specialist acts as the leader. I have a very good grasp of the process of making plastic molded toys. Even though I have not done the finishing and dressing up work, I have confidence that I can make molded plastic toys on my own.
