1.) What is message consistency? Why is message consistency important in a marketing campaign? How might a hospitality organization ensure message consistency in its marketing efforts?
Message consistency refers to the essential practice of ensuring that you advertising is giving the same message at all levels and in every media. For example, if you are Avis Rental Car and your message is "We care" you want this same message to appear on all of your billboards, in your Rental Outlet windows, on Facebook, Twitter, TV advertising etc. However, you also want this message to be reflected at every level of your business. For example, lets say a customer reserves a car at Avis. When they arrive at the airport however, they are advised by a flippant front desk attendant that Avis is all out of the car they reserved "too bad so sad" then the customer is not receiving a consistent message. All of the advertising says "We Care" but the front desk agent's attitude says "We could Care Less".
