In 1968, Eddie Adams a combat photographer took a Putlizer winning photograph of Brigadier General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a Vietcong prisoner. The prisoner with his hands tied behind his back was shot at close range by General Loan. I was seven years old when I first saw this photograph. A year later I saw more disturbing photographs in Life magazine of the Mi Lai massacre. These photographs haunted me for many years afterward. Children are fragile and innocent.
