A ghost writer is someone who drafts a document or manuscript to be used by someone else, either an individual or an organization. Ghost writers are used by well-known authors, scientific publishers, magazines, businesses and in many industries. While the ghost writer is compensated for the work, the credit is given to the individual or business that requests the materials. The individual or organization owns the intellectual property and has the sole right to publish ghost written materials, in most instances. The writer agrees that his or her name will not be attached to any work produced and is owned by the individual or organization requesting the materials.
