The organization I work for is Easy Toys: The Company has one hundred and twenty employees, its annual revenues are $350 million, and its market share is 1.5% of the molded toys market. Easy Toys collects point of sales information from toy retailers for getting real-time information about the current favorites, trends, and preferences and uses the information to design, make, and market toys that are currently in high demand. The strategy of Easy Toys is to quickly convert current trends into plastic molded toys and distribute them so that they sell fast and no inventories remain. Unsold inventories have to be scrapped, so the company strives to keep its toys current so that there are no unsold inventories.

The organizational design is that the CEO has three persons reporting to him. These are the production manager, the marketing manager, and the administration manager. The production manager is responsible for purchasing raw materials, the design, manufacturing, and packing of toys, and transporting them to the distributors. The marketing manager is responsible for collecting points of sales information about toys, sending the information to the production department, pricing of toys, negotiating with distributors, selling toys, and getting payments for toys. The administration manager is responsible for the purchase, installation, and maintenance of the manufacturing facilities, He is also responsible for the finance and accounting department of our company. The production manager has twelve production teams of five persons each, the sales manager has eight teams of five persons each, and the administration manager has three teams of five persons each. This organizational structure is effective because it has evolved and the three managers have mastered their roles. They solve problems with ease, resolve conflicts when they arise, and they know how to run the operations profitably.
