The Railway Labor Act was enacted to bring to an end sudden strikes and to keep the railway trains moving. The act also provided an opportunity to make sure that Railroad Workers had the right to negotiate with the company, enter into new agreements and enforce the existing ones. It is a federal law that regulates labor relations in the railroad and airline industry. The main purpose of The Railway Labor Act was that the railroads should keep moving and at the same time if disputes came up the workers should continue working and instead bargain for their rights. The point was work now and grieve later rule. The national mediation board was created by The Railway Labor Act to administer different functions under the Act. This act provides mediator, provides means of amending contracts and lays down the procedure for initiating negotiations.
