    The Miami school district has announced that as a result of unexpected increases in enrollment, that school boundaries for the upcoming year will be redrawn. The school board has hired experts to redraw school boundaries to be submitted for next year. Under this plan, many students will not be able to stay at their present school. Upon hearing this, parents start voicing their objections to the school board about the proposed plan for the following reasons:

    The stakeholders in this scenario include school children and their parents/families, school authorities including teachers/staff, management and other personnel involved with the school management and administration, vendors and suppliers of the school, community/society in the vicinity of the school.

    I will use a negotiation strategy that strives for win-win outcome for all the stakeholders. As school is a not for profit organization aimed at benefitting the community and society by preparing better citizens for tomorrow, it is essential that concerns of all the stakeholders should be addressed and win-win situation should be arrived at via the negotiation.

    Integrative barganing or popularly known as Win-Win bargaining is a negotiation strategy wherein parties in the negotiation aim to arrive at a decision that suits the interests of all the parties. In other words, the decision or outcome of the negotiation is a scenario that aims to satisfy the interests of all the parties in the negotiation in the most satisfying manner. For this scenario, integrative bargaining will strive to make both parents as well as the school authorities happy by arriving at a mutually beneficial decision for all the parties.
