How do you help the people in your organization avoid this problem and move on to actually make a decision?

The data + analysis + metrics for future direction is often a hotly contested concept in a lot of organizations. There is always a debate if the data, analysis and metrics were compiled correctly without any underlying bias.

Can the data and analysis statistics be manipulated? Is it possible to make them show a positive or a negative based on the desired outcome?

3) Total Quality Management - Concepts versus Reality

In a lot of classes there is always a lot of discussion around what really works. The biggest debate is often between great concepts that look great on paper and theory, but are almost impossible to implement. Do you think there are any metrics or TQM concepts that are great in concept, but extremely hard to do in reality?

It is often done at some organizations that they use filtering software to block music sites and shopping sites during completely or during working hours. Almost everyone has an opinion, but it is the organizations network. They feel that it should be used for business purposes during business hours. Is it fair for the organization to block streaming music sites at work? Does it reduce productivity?

How do you help the people in your organization avoid this problem and move on to actually make a decision?
I help the people in my organization first determine the need for information and analytical results, for instance the HRM requires employee performance analysis only once a year to give yearly bonuses, increments and promotions. Starting from that point, I ensure that performance analysis is done only one a year. Similarly, the Sales VP of my company requires the analysis of the performance of sales managers only once a month. So the analysis of sales performance is done once a year. There is no analysis paralysis in my company because the analysis is done only to the extent required by the company. Nobody waits for analysis results, the results are ready before the day the decision has to be made.
