In the first place, as you briefly offer examples of art of the 19th century, the first piece that I really love is the lovely painting, "Houses on the Achterzaan," by Claude Monet, who was French. It was made in 1871. It is cited at http://www.metmuseum.org/Collections/search-the-collections/150000155?high=on&rpp=15&pg=1&rndkey=20120821&ft=*&when=A.D.+1800-1900&pos=5
It is also located at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
