By studying and understanding how we as humans come together in times of tragedy and time of joy we can find the commonalities that are so important to our cultural survival. We can see how different people from different backgrounds and cultures react and dovetail their efforts to meet the needs and wants of others. We can then use those moments as a base to educate all people. We can provide positive examples of how working together brought us to a goal and how working in opposition hampered or destroyed our ability to complete a goal.
The academics study the roles people play in circumstances. They work to discover how each role worked to help or hinder progress throughout time. From this they can teach others and formulate methods that others such as business, parents, ...
