Transportation Model. The following table shows the number of planeloads of supplies available each day from each of six supply depots and the number of daily loads demanded at each of five stores. (Each planeload is approximately equal in tonnage.) Also included in the table are the transport hours per plane (where transport hours include loading and fueling time, actual flight time, and unloading and refueling times).
Build a transportation model in Excel and use Excel's Solver to determine the optimal daily flight schedule that will minimize total transport time.
