Explaining Correlation
Not what you're looking for?
What does it mean to say that a correlation is "strong?" How can we assess the strength of a correlation by looking at a scatter graph of the data?
A "strong" correlation is a relative term and depends on the field of study. All things being equal, correlation values above 0.90 or -0.90 can be described as "strong." Again, the choice of these two values would depend on the study. The strength of the correlation increases as the value approaches 1 or -1.
