Critical Range for Tukey-Kramer. See attached file for full problem description.

    Answer
    The null hypothesis tested is
H0: There is no significant difference in the population mean of downhill coasting speed of 4 brands of bi cycles
Here one way ANOVA can be used as there is only one categorical variable

    b).
    ANOVA
Source of Variation SS df MS F P-value F crit
    Between Groups 81.33333 3 27.11111 10.16667 0.004188 4.066181
    Within Groups 21.33333 8 2.666667
    Total 102.6667 11

c). Reject the null hypothesis, if the calculated value of F is grater than the critical value of F with 3,8 d.f at 0.05 significance level

d). since the calculated value of F is greater than the critical value, we, reject the null hypothesis.

    e) Critical range of Tukey Kramer procedure is 3.15

    f) The mean difference is 44.7 - 38 = 6.7 which is greater than the Critical range of Tukey Kramer procedure. Thus we can infer that there is significant difference in the population mean of Tornado & Shaw brands.
