Does racial profiling of Blacks exists in other countries, and if so, how it is handled by the differing groups
This is a very good question! "Racial profiling is the consideration of race early on in criminal investigations. If a member of a race is considered more likely to be involved in criminal behavior due to his race, he may be more often suspected of committing crimes, even when no evidence exists to justify this supposition" (Wise Geek) And unfortunately, this occurs all over the world (not just in the United States). In other countries, there are numerous incidents of African Americans automatically being suspected of crime. For example in Canada:
In 2005, the Kingston Police released the first study ever in Canada which pertains to racial profiling. The study focused on in the city of Kingston, a small city where most of the inhabitants are white. ...
The solution discusses racial profiling in other countries.
Sociological perspective to create public policies & city ordinances
As the social and cultural aide to the mayor of a major city , it is your responsibility to provide the mayor and other city officials with a sociological perspective that will help them shape public policies and draft city ordinances.Since you are new to the area , you want to begin by preparing a sociological profile of your city (or county).
Your profile should include:
Population density and diversity.
Median household income
Percent persons in poverty
Median home values
Check several examples of the local media and determine the types of behavior(s) that distinguish high culture in the area. What kind of behaviors distinguish popular culture? Cite your sources.View Full Posting Details
