I need some web sources to find out about the community in which I live in. In addition, I need statistic data on the races within my community that compares African American ethnic group to other groups (poverty, income, education, etc.). The region is the Wakefield section of the Bronx in New York City. I need to know the local government, service groups, clubs, schools, or workplace.

This is an interesting research project, for sure. In addition to web sources, though, other sources to consider are as follows:
1. Your local phone book lists important service groups, clubs, schools and various businesses (e.g., workplace).
2. Local newspapers, flyers, etc. that you receive from your local area also serve as an excellent source of valuable information.
3. You might even decide to do some field research, meaning that you collect primary data from going out into your home community, taking "field" notes of the schools, businesses, clubs, etc.
