First, for any minors who are choosing to see a psychologist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with any Mental Health laws in most states, I would not treat any minor without their parent's consent. This is according to APA ethical guidelines. For example, it would be under APA guidelines 4.02 Discussing and the Limits of Confidentiality. However, one cannot treat a minor in any state, at least not that I know of, without the consent of the parent/s or legal guardian.
