In a certain neuron, the action of a synapse can be represented as in the figure below. The cell membrane resistance is 2Mohm and the reversal potential of the rest of the EPSP is 30mV above the resting potential of the cell. If a microelectrode records the EPSP as 5mV of depolarization (assume steady state), what was the effective resistance of the synaptic membrane during its active period?

NOTE: If Cationchannels open, the postsynaptic cell (dendrite or muscle) will depolarize due to the influx of sodium and outfluxof potassium, causing an excitatory post-synaptic potential (or EPSP).
