A bullet of mass m = 100 g is fired at speed v0 = 20 m/s into a wooden block of mass M = 0.5 kg. The bullet instantaneously comes to rest in the block, as shown in the figure (see attached). The block with the embedded bullet slides along a horizontal surface with a coefficient of kinetic friction u = 0.2. How far does the block slide before it comes to rest (i.e. magnitude of displacement s in the figure)?
