Potential energy at a point in an electric field is defined as the work done in carrying a unit positive charge (proton) from a
point whose potential is 0 (Infinity point) to the point in the field.
If a proton is moved from 0 V potential to 10 V potential, its potential energy would therefore increase. That is, the work
done would be stored as electrical potential energy.
If an electron is moved from 0 V potential to 10 V potential, its potential energy would decrease.
