• Philosophy arguments

  Put most simply, if an argument is valid, the truth of the premises insures the truth of the conclusion. Otherwise put, if an argument is valid, there will be no case in which all the premises are true and the conclusion is false.

  My neighbor is in the hospital; therefore, my neighbor is ill. In an inductive argument the premises are suppose to support the conclusion in such a way that if the premises are true it is improbable for the conclusion to be false.

  In an invalid argument, no contradiction is generated when the premises are true and the conclusion is false. In the example above, just because all apples are fruits, and some fruits are green, it doesn't mean that all apples are green.

• A fallacy free argument

  Make sure that your argument is logically valid (the premises support the conclusion), and alter the plausibility of the premises according to the facts of your track-record and class-requirements.
