• Scientific explanation is a systematic knowledge derived from the observed study of phenomena that can be examined by experimentation (Beyerstein, 1995). Pseudoscience are fields that try to appropriate scientific knowledge. The beliefs are based on pseudo or false sciences, which is any defined as belonging to a body of knowledgeable claiming to have a high level of science; but falls short in that it cannot be evidenced.
• Common sense explanation- is based on universal generalizations and relies on what can be observed naturally. For instance, common sense beliefs are causal explanations that are linked to physical science. In his paper on, "Common Sense Psychology and Scientific Explanation", Stoutland (n. d.) provides an example in demonstrating that "Joan went to the kitchen to get a glass of wine" As he further explains, she went to bring about a teleological occurrence (something that happened naturally).
