Multiple Regression Analysis and Least Squares Regression
Not what you're looking for?
I understand how to apply least squares regression to produce an estimated regression equation when a single variable is involved.
How is that applied for a MULTIPLE regression analysis? Is there a simultaneous solution involving all variables at once, or is a separate calculation performed for each variable independently? My text really doesn't give much detail, only stating similar calculations are used.
I plan on using excel for my solutions. Do you have an example of how to set up excel program for a multiple regression analysis?

When you do a multiple regression analysis, you make one equation relating one dependent variable (y) to several independent variables (x's).
When you do simple linear regression, you might find a t-value associated with that slope, and test to see if the slope is significantly different than 0. With multiple regression, you have a "slope" ...
