1. Older citizens report less victimization than teens. What reasons could help account for such a wide disparity in victimization? Explain.

Teens are more easily victimized because they are more vulnerable and more easily taken advantage of by perpetrators of crime. Teens also have less power and are often easily manipulated by assailants, so there is a higher rate of victimization that in older citizens, and thus a higher reported victimization in this population. Also, teens are often victims of family abuse, where they are dependent so the reported rates of victimization are often higher in teens.
