Codex Alimentarius is an international food standard that sets standards for safety, quality, and fairness of international food trade. This standard is internationally recognized. It has been created by Codex Alimentarius Commission that was formed in 1963 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN and the WHO. Its objectives are to protect the health of consumers and ensure fair practices in food trade.
